Our story · North Street, Winchcombe

A Cotswold bookshop, kept by hand since 2005.

Books & Ink is a bricks-and-mortar bookshop in the pretty market town of Winchcombe, in the Cotswolds. We stock second-hand, antiquarian and a selected handful of new books, with prints, maps and ephemera, more than twenty-five thousand titles in all. Sam started the shop in 2005 and has run it ever since.

We sit at 6 North Street, on a medieval street in the heart of town, a minute from Sudeley Castle and a step off the Cotswold Way. Some of the stock is online, but there are far more books to browse in the shop, so if you are after something in particular, let us know and we will look.

The Book Nook is our holiday let, beautifully renovated, directly above the bookshop at No. 6, in what the Cotswolds calls its walking capital. A quiet, book-lined base for a weekend in Winchcombe, with the shelves of Books & Ink on the doorstep and the Cotswold Way from the door.

Can I buy online, and do you post books?

Yes. Some of our second-hand and antiquarian stock is listed online, and our Bookshop.org storefront carries a wide range of new books. We post first class, or you are welcome to collect from the shop on North Street.

Do you sell more than books?

We do. Alongside the books there are prints, maps, ephemera and a range of book-related gifts, the kind of thing that makes a present for a reader.
